THEY said that a person can live for a few weeks without eating any food, but can only live a few days without water.
Today, the award-winning host and film maker John Paul Seniel tackles the water problem faced by the residents of Sitio Bubungan, barangay Malamba, Marilog District wherein their supply only comes from a spring or tubod located several kilometres away from the city.
Aside from the distance, the water source is located on an upland that adds extremely greater burden and difficulty to the residents including children and even pregnant women on getting their drinking water every day.
But good news may have come to the residents of Sitio Bubungan. After watching the episode of Isyu Mindanao previously aired last November 3, 2012, a philanthropist was moved their story and has promised to fund the construction of a water facility in sitio Bubungan.
Watch this inspiring story of a community who was empowered to act to also help themselves. Eager to relieve themselves of the problem, the residents have banded together to help in the transportation of the construction materials from the town proper to the far-flung sitio, notwithstanding the heat of the sun, the distance, and the heavy load.
Catch this in Isyu Mindanao airs every Saturday, starting at 7:30 a.m. on GMA Network's regional stations in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and General Santos.
