Cesar has new Kapuso soap-A A +A

NEW Kapuso actor Cesar “Buboy” Montano will be hitting headlines once more (hopefully on a positive note, this time) as he stars in a new teleserye opposite Lovi Poe and Solenn Heusaff.
The soap, which is called Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas, will start its run on September 7 in the Kapuso Network’s primetime block.
Buboy, who jumped from being a Kapamilya to Kapatid and now to a Kapuso, was enthusiastic when he shared his thoughts about the project with the Davao entertainment press during his Kadayawan visit here.
“Well, the offer itself lalona’t reunion project namin ‘to ni Direk Laurice Guillen,” he said when asked why he decided to accept the project.
Buboy recalled that he got his first Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Supporting Actor award in 1989 for the film Bukas Ay Akin, the project where he had the first chance to work with Direk Laurice. If you have noticed it, Buboy's teleserye is just a different way of putting his movie's title, isn't it?
“Actually, may offer din ang ABS-CBN na teleserye pero na-miss kong makatrabaho si Laurice Guillen, eh,” he said.
When prodded about the monetary offer, Buboy was quick to say: “Konti lang naman ang diperensya.”
In the teleserye, Buboy will play a tax lawyer whose girlfriend is Solenn, a medical doctor who is so absorbed by her job.
“Because of that, we eventually fall out of love so Lovi will become my next girlfriend,” he narrated. Lovi here is the daughter of his client.
Meanwhile, no statement from Buboy about her issues with estranged wife Sunshine Cruz was ever heard from him simply because a gag order from the court has already been issued. In fact, even before the interview started, some of the actor’s handlers already asked the press not to ask anything about the controversy.
With such request, Buboy opted instead to talk about his hobby, painting, which he started out during his elementary years.
The 51-year-old actor said that as a painter he’s an “expressionist” and uses oil pastel and acrylic as mediums.
“Actually, lahatng work ko ay naka-display sa restaurant kosa Quezon City (BellissimoRistorante),” he said.
Buboy revealed that two years ago, he had an exhibit in San Diego, California and he was amzed with the result.
“Sold out talagas’ya,” he said.
Buboy said he draws inspiration and motivation from his brother and sister, both of whom are artists.
On the other hand, Buboy said his interest on politics suddenly disappeared.
“At this very moment, biglangna-erase s’ya, nawalas’ya. Right now, my heart is dedicated on filmmaking, TV, painting, and writing,” he said.
To recall, Buboy ran for Senator in the 2007 elections and governor of Bohol in 2010.
