A night of great music-A A +A
Sunday, November 3, 2013
IT was a night to remember, with great music and good performances. It was the Back to Back to Back concert at Usep Gymnasium in Davao City.
It was a once in a lifetime musical event that showcased the different performances of top-caliber music artists -- both local and international.
The concert was a proof that music of the yesteryears, of course with the OPM hits, continues to move and bring back the wonderful memories, thru songs.
Music lovers filled the gym in Bo. Obrero last October 26. All were eager to witness their favorite artists performing live on stage.
Of course, you really don't want to miss the moment, watching the performances of Nonoy Zuniga, Side A Band, Anna Melissa, Joe Puerta, the lead vocalist of Ambrosia, Michael Johnson and Stephen Bishop. All of them serenaded the huge crowd that night with their greatest hits.
The newbie pop-rock singer Anna Melissa first performed on stage, looking good and definitely pretty on her mini red dress.
Anna Melissa belted her version of Madonna's hit Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. She also shared her rendition of Rolling in the Deep, Adelle's original song.
But when Anna Melissa sung her single, "Nalusaw," that talks about broken-promises and heartache, the audience gave an overwhelming applause to her delight.
After Anna Melissa, one of the music icons in the country, Nonoy Zuniga, also shared his amazing hits.
His voice is "walang kupas," ever soothing and so pleasant to listen.
Some of the songs Nonoy shared to the crowd were origibnal hits in the 80's, including Doon Lang, an all-time favorite OPM songs, Hanggang Dito Na Lang, and Never Ever Say Goodbye as his last piece.
Next in line was the grouypthat gave numerous hits, the Side A Band.
Tagged as the local version of the international band Toto, it's not a question anymore why many love the hits of this band. Truly their songs speak of what your heart truly feels.
Few songs Side A played and gave much hype that night are the hits like Hold On, Sana Naman, So Many Questions, Tell Me and the most love Foevermore.
Right after the performance of the Pinoy artists, the concert had a short break to give way for the preparation for the next part of the show.
After the break, one of my favorite singers, Michael Johnson graced the stage. Since then, I already love his songs.
That is why, to see him perform and listen to him while singing his hits on stage live was an awesome experience.
The American pop, country and folk singer-songwriter and guitarist serenaded his Dabawenyo fans with his hits, like Doors, Bluer than Blue that became a hit in late 70's, his version of Jose Mari Chan's original Beautiful Girl, and lastly I'll Always Love You that truly made me shout for gladness.
Next was Joe, the vocalist of Ambrosia. As always, he never failed everyone with his all-out performance.
Audience had a wonderful time jamming with him with the songs, Biggest Part of Me, How Much I Feel, I Just Can't Let Go and many more.
Lastly, Stephen Bishop made the night more romantic. He may be old, but his music and soothing voice is like an energy-booster.
It feels good listening to songs that inspire you and reflect your emotions -- songs that continue to linger and make you feel calm every time you hear it with its wonderful melodies.
The concert wrapped up with a song number with the guest artists.
Though it's already midnight, the energy of the concert goers was still high.
For sure, everybody had a great time and went home with a smile, reminiscing the great songs from the concert.
