Best gift of all: Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko-A A +A
Wednesday, November 6, 2013
THE spirit of giving and sharing is never more evident among Filipino families than during the Christmas season. And Jollibee spearheaded the promotion of the Filipino generosity with the launch of a campaign awareness tagged as "Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko," the country's biggest and longest running toy and book donation drive.
The campaign, which is in its 19th year, allows families around the globe to take part in an annual tradition of spreading smiles and cheer for less fortunate kids this Christmas.
The launch was participated by major schools, teachers and companies last October 26 at SM Annex Event Center, bringing joy to the needy children whose family cannot afford Christmas presents.
It was an afternoon of fun, food, drinks, and entertainment. X-Factor runner-up Johanne Morissette D. Amon sang "On The Wings of Love," and "Do You Hear What I Hear," who looked and sounded like her X-Factor mentor Sarah Geronimo, but that as it may, it definitely didn't looked and sounded like mediocre karaoke, the crowd certainly seemed to enjoy it, over the huge screams and cheers from the audience.
During the Mindanao launch of Maaga ang Pasko, the campaign welcomed its new batch of partner schools and companies, adding to the ever growing family of Jolly Toy Scouts. They will fulfill the mission to spread love and cheer to children and promise to donate their time and effort to the collection of toys and books, as responsible member of society.
The campaign also inducted new partners in separate launches in Manila, Batangas, and Pampanga in partnership with SM Supermalls.
Ms. Grace Mercado, Jollibee operations director for Mindanao, also shared exciting news for this year's Maaga ang Pasko.
"As Jollibee celebrates its 35th year, we are inviting families from all over the globe to be part of the Jolly Family Toy Scouts. In November, we will be launching the Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko microsite, where families here or abroad can donate a toy and book online. This is made possible with the help of our campaign partners Toy Kingdom and Goodwill Bookstore," she said.
The campaign is also tapping the Filipino communities in the United States, Middle East, Hongkong and Singapore – where Maaga ang Pasko boxes will be placed in Jollibee stores.
"With the campaign going global beginning this year, we're hoping to bring together families here and abroad to make Christmas even merrier for more children and families," Mercado said.
