Disco Fever Party-A A +A
Tuesday, December 17, 2013
HAVE you ever heard your parents talking about getting down in the 70s? You probably rolled your eyes as they went on about Saturday
Night Fever and said things like "it was totally groovy."
But if you actually took the time to take it all in you probably would realize that the 70s is the perfect theme for your party. And I thought so, after hosting Aeon Tower's 70's Christmas-themed party.
It was a bell bottoms, tie-dye t-shirts, afro wig, butterfly collar shirt and flat-formed sole shoes night, as Aeon Towers send back its guests to the 70's for a bit of disco fever.
That was the kind of party that rocked last December 12 at Grand Regal Hotel. The venue was full-flower power with brightly colored symbols of the era, rotating sparkle balls and peace signs by Sangalor Cordero of CCD Flowers Unlimited that put people into the mood.
And while Polyester shirts, big chains, long flowery dresses and colorful wigs reigned unquestionably that evening, with outfit that really do turned heads, the guest had a wonderful time competing for the Best in Costume and Best 70's production number participated by real estate agencies.
The Aquino agency bagged the 1st prize for both the 70's production number and Best in costume; the 2nd Prize went to Borras Agency and 3rd prizes to 3rd Prize to Asoy Agency.
And who doesn't love to move along to the funky sounds of the 1970s, thanks to DJ Jommel Banez, spinning a wide array of crowd-pleasing tunes, including "Staying Alive," "Play That Funky Music," to Manila sound and VST hit tunes. The attendees had a wonderful time dancing and singing and partying like no other.
Games and prizes were given to lucky agents who continue to lure clients to buy Aeon Towers units. Aeon Towers raffle off big prizes including two Samsung 31 inch LED Smart TV, cameras, washing machines, purifiers, and more. All attendees went home with grocery items for "noche buena" as door prizes.
Aeon Towers promised agents to be more generous next year with a planned promo raffle draw every month that made the crowds of sales people up to their feet.
The longest line and the kiss the card games, brought the house down, as sales agents were transported back to childhood and turned rowdy little kids. They competed like crazy and I have to say, it's cringe-worthy.
But despite the friendly complaints, in one game, who would take home the prize, I have to give it to the crowd for their undeniable cooperation.
Aeon Towers consultant Andrew Bautista gave high- energy of a speech that excites the audience, with truly inspirational words, topics such as perseverance, goal setting and positive thinking that really connected him to the audience.
Among the judges were sales admin head of Aeon Towers Thessa Ortiz, and quantity surveyor and health & safety officer of I.A. Campbell & Associates Inc. Steven Marin.
Noel Plenos took home the grand prize for the Best 70's Costume for Male while Gemma Ramas and Betsy dela Victoria won the Best in Costume for Women.
Indeed, it was a party to remember, as guest ushered their way out, that didn’t stop them from making a bee-line at the photo booth for another round of retro pictures.
Kudos to Aeon Tower people for a rock on party -- Marc Lopez (sales & training head), Gen Marchan (marketing manager), Don Dela Pena (training head), Andrew Marl Meralpis (marketing officer), Reez Yu (marketing officer), Jen dela Cruz (asst. admin), Berlynda Villanueva, Ryan Medel and Richard Clarin (logistics) and Engr. Boboy Espinola (construction manager of I.A. Campbell and Associates Inc).
