Solamo-Madrazo: Glam Camping Themed Wedding-A A +A
Tuesday, December 31, 2013
MOST of the weddings I hosted over the years would either have enchanting, chromatic, or fairytale themes, but the turquoise blue and emerald green, “Glam Camping theme of Solamo and Madrazo wedding at Apo View Hotel held last Dec 20 was a dress down event, from cake to decors, everything was comfy as well as the guests who showed up that day. It was an ambience of a relaxed and friendly neighborhood.
The bride, Leilani was a vision of delight, just like any bride on her wedding day, the moment she stepped out of the bridal car. The ceremony was held at Sta Ana Parish Church and the party continued in their reception at Ballroom A of The Apo View Hotel. It was a magical day planned for perfection, the bridal gown, designed by Davao’s leading designer Edgar Buyan. Hair and Makeup enthusiast Otoi Mercado made Leilani radiant that day. The groom, Amado, as well, took a lot of interest in looking handsome and gorgeous on his wedding day.
Decors and Coordination was provided by a team of totally talented people, headed by Paul Paguntalan, known to many as Tita Pau whom I missed working and seeing his wedding planning ingenuity in the works, with him is Ray Rian Jay Palmero and Gleen Calonzo, who provided the potted plants and decorated trees with fairy lights that transformed the whole ballroom into an enchanted forest, and outdoor look. Both children and adults enjoyed this theme thoroughly, as they couldn’t help but take home the supplier's decorative camping candle lantern, reminiscent of what you take to illuminate the camp when night time falls. Plus, it's not so overused that it's a cliché.
The cake was also nature & camping inspired and had a hand sculpted clay bride & groom figures, tent, fire and a camp sign by Cuppables. Guests were in for a treat, as hors d'oeuvres and cocktails by Piece o’ Cake welcomed guests at the lobby and Imagine FotoFun provided the photo booth that becomes the hit of the day. JM Santillan led the team of Eight Productions for the wedding’s amazing videos and on-site photos and guests rave about it.
Charming and impromptu intermission numbers came from Mara, who sang with all her might, her beautiful young voice echoing across the hall, and Gia, a ballet performance that was warmly applauded as the people watching this cute little girl wearing a tutu and strutting her way on stage saw that her performance was sprightly, springy and brilliant.
Their parents Atty. Amado and Elsa Solamo, and Jose and Ophelia Madrazo were a picture of enormously happy proud parents, wishing the couple happy memories.
Mijo, an acoustic group, provided the full entertainment at the wedding with tight vocal harmonies and fantastic range of great music from relaxing background to dance floor classics and you can’t help but notice how talented they were. They are Alyanna Espiritu( female vocals), Kim Velasco (male vocals), Gonjie Montecino (Guitar/Vocal) and TJ Sacay (Cajon).
