NESTLED along Dacudado Avenue in Agdao, Davao City is a service center for automobiles, a new facility that has yet to establish a name for itself but is ready to offer customers with excellent service.
Yokohama Davao, a branch of the Philtyres Corporation along Sta. Ana Avenue, opened in January this year and is still finding its place in the automotive repair and service industry.
"We only have walk-in customers, we don't have fleet account," admits Claudette Chiu, Yokohama Davao branch manager.
That's understandable. Yokohama is doing business for only nine months and considering the long list of service centers in Davao City, it will take time before clients start noticing the newest player to the industry.
Chiu, however, assured that Yokohama is just right there in terms of competitiveness, ready to provide its customers of quality service and rates.
"Of course, we aim to attract more customers and have them avail of our services," Chiu told Sun.Star Davao. "We are that competitive."
Yohokama Davao is the authoprized distributor of the Yokohama tires, their main products at its facility in Dacudao.
Chiu said they sell local and imported brand of tires. They have imported tires for sports utility vehicles (SUVs) like the Innova, Yokohama Davao also boasts of equipment like lifter, wheel balancer and tire changer, and has two technicians to do the job for its clients. Yokohama also has two personnel ready to assist customers anytime.
Its services include change oil, engine tune-up, clean and adjust brakes, aircon cleaning, time mounting, wheel balancing, rust proofing, undercoating and auto-detailing.
Yokohama is also a dealer of other tire brands like Ceat, Kancook, Falken, Gajah Tunggal, Michelen and Kumbo, and products like Bosch, Motolite batteries, Prestone and STP and Shell lubricants.
Chiu said they also send their technicians to trainings and seminars from time to time just like other service centers to have their skills in auto repair service upgraded.
Being a new player, it will take time for Yokohama Davao to really draw customers to its facility, as what Chiu had admitted.
But, offering quality service to its patrons and staying competitive with the rest of Davao City's automotive service centers, will make Yokohama Davao an attraction to the end users.
Knowing the people of Davao's preference for quality and excellent service, it's just a matter of time for Yokohama Davao to make a name in the business.
