EVERY December, Marco Polo Davao never failed to treat its media partners and regular attendees of Club 888 to a fabulous and exciting Christmas party.
More than 50 members of Davao tri-media joined this year's "Hollywood" inspired celebration at the hotel's Saranggani Room.

The three-hour event started with a short interview with invited guests Dr. Malou Monteverde, president of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) and regional director Art Boncato of Department of Tourism XI.
Organizers of Club 888, a 12-year old business and tourism net, wanted to make sure that those attending the party will have stories to write afterwards, aside from the usual experience of gift-giving, camaraderie and feasting.
Shortly after the mini-presscon, the Melodies of Marco Polo serenaded the group with wonderful and heart-warming Christmas carols.
But what made this year's gathering extra special was the surprise appearance of a foreign-looking Santa Claus who was in his complete outfit and accessories (courtesy of two pretty "reindeers" bringing some goodies).
Everybody was amazed and did not immediately recognize the Santa whom we found out a bit later to be the MPD general manager himself, Bruno Simeoni.
In his Christmas message, Santa Bruno, as others fondly called him, wished everyone a wonderful holiday. He also expressed gratefulness for the cooperation and partnership established between the Marco Polo and the Davao media.
MPD public relations executives Meg Sta. Inez and Patty Basa conducted the raffle draw which major prizes include an overnight stay with breakfast for 2 and buffet dinner for two at Marco Polo.
Aside from Monteverde and Boncato, who was also one of the major players in the creation of Club 888 in 1998 when he was still the hotel's director for sales and marketing, Atty. Dominador Duerme of Philippine Airlines also graced the occasion. (Photos courtesy of Frances Mae Gevera of PIA.)
