Tea'amo: A nice milk tea place

APRIL Mesiona swears they have no marketing strategy when she and her younger sister Chiara opened Tea'amo Tea and Coffee Shop.
Without much fanfare and even lacking in personnel, Tea'amo quietly opened its doors to the public at the groundfloor of Sanny Sweets Bldg. along Tionko Avenue last March 23.
The Mesiona sisters, as it turned out, don't need all the hoopla for their endeavor. Customers, specially milk tea lovers, have been trooping to the Tea'amo Tea and Coffee Shop since it's opening.
"It was just a word of mouth. We just did it through some friends, Facebook and Twitter. We don't even have a Twitter account," says April in recalling how they started the family business.
At Tea'amo, they offer consumers with different milk teas that are good for one's health. They also have coffee, of course, and a wide variety of pastries and pasta.
April said their milk tea best sellers include Salted Caramel, Wintermelon, Butter Caramel and Royal Earl. For snacks to go with one's cup of tea, Tea'amo has popcorn chicken, crispy wings and olive sardines.
For the coffee lovers, Tea'amo's coffee blends include Durian de Leche, Raspberry Mocha, Banana Cream Coffee, Iced Coffee Jelly and Mango Coffee.
The place is also clean and is designed to give customers total comfort every time they visit the facility. Tea'amo also has a message wall where customers leave their messages after their visit. With messages being inscribed in colorful papers, the message wall actually gives Tea'amo added attraction.
Service is also excellent and fast and for customers who carry their laptops all the time, the Tea'amo is the right place since it's a Wi-fi zone.
The Mesionas are from Davao City, although they both finished college in Manila.
The 25-year-old April, a product of De La Salle University, said they really wanted to open a business in Davao, even after living in New York for four years where she took up Pattern Making and Design course.
"Home is Davao," Apri says.
When the Tea'amo Tea and Coffee Shop had its soft opening last March, April said they they never really had big expectations. All they desired was to open the business and offer the people of Davao something that is good for the health and affordable.
People of Davao have responded positively and as the messages on the wall indicate, they love Tea'amo Tea and Coffee Shop.
