EACH individual has his/her own and distinct level of contentment. But for Malu Dadula, administrative officer of the City Information Office (CIO), she finds contentment with what life has given her.
Being in the public service for 15 years is no joke. But like any other jonb, Malu said working with the city government can give someone a sense of contentment.
Malu, went to the Immaculate Conception College and Davao City High School for her elementary and high-school education, respectively. Her college days were spent at Holy Cross of Davao College, where she finished Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
After graduating from college in 1997, she immediately entered the government service and her quest as a public servant started that year.
At the age of 40, Malu said she did not regret the things that came on her way. As a single mother to her 14-year-old daughter Athea Danae, she said her daughter is the reason why still has to wake up and get up every morning and go to work and live life.
She said people around her may find her obscure and talkative but she said only few knew that she is religious. "Kung naa lang ko sa balay, akong anak ug ang akong mama ra ang akong gina atiman (If I am just home, I take care of my daughter and my mother)," she said.
Malu admitted, though, that raising a teenage daughter alone in these days is a very challenging task.
"Dili lalim magpa dako ug bata na ikaw ra isa (raising a child alone is not a joke)," she said.
Even then, she said, she has no other choice but to accept what life has to offer and what the Almighty has given her. For after all, she said,
having her daughter was the best thing that happened on her entire life.
Asked of her present romantic life, Malu said she wants to keep it within herself.
