IT WAS not your typical fashion show. The opening of Ipanema shop at the Abreeza Mall on October 12 was a runway show cum fashion festival similar to the raved about fashion parade in Manila recently.
Dubbed “Ipanema Urban Jungle Fashion Show”, the night was was an opportunity to discover a magical side of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, where one of the world’s popular flip-flop brand originated, dedicated to the unraveling of the fabulous “fauna” of new Ipanema flipflop styles.
With a history rooted in comfort, style and reliability, Ipanema flip flops have gone a long way from its early beginnings back in 1971.
The packed Activity Center of the Abreeza Mall was a venue to a mélange of mystical animals ushering Ipanema’s sassy new collection. This included the playful and graceful dolphin to the sleek wolf down to the lion and lioness, otherwise known as jungle royalties making their regal presence felt. What transpired was a generous visual display of colors, elaborate costumes and masterful choreography opening the gates of the grand mecca of footwear essentials in the Mindanao region.
The brave array of footwear designs embody Ipanema’s distinct jovial, fun spirit and has long since created a name synonymous to creativity and fun, coming up with a bevy of collections featuring a lauded mix of bright colors, bold prints and vibrant patterns.
Up to this day, Ipanema has carved a name easily attributed to a style haven not just in Brazil but around the globe where stylistas thrive.
Truly, Ipanema is more than just a flip flop. It also a fashion accessory that matches your wardrobe and way of life.
