JUST because the summer heat is unbearable doesn't mean we have to surrender style. Now that the hottest season of the year is just a few weeks away, Davao City's top fashion bloggers show us how to be effortlessly fashionable under the heat of the sun.

Getting Ready is the Key

Nicole San Mateo of www.nicolesanmateo.com has vacation getaways in mind when she was thinking of her must-haves so she came up with three looks that she considers as "travelling" wardrobe essentials.

Look No. 1: Casual Street Style

"This outfit consists of a basic pair of flats, skinny jeans, a chiffon blouse with a peter pan collar and a floral sweater. Flats to me are a must-have because travelling may require lots of walking, so you basically need shoes that won’t tire your feet easily. I love these skinnies from DP, the fit and length is perfect; the fabric is of superior quality too -- I highly recommend this pair. I chose a chiffon top with grey floral prints and topped it with a peach and grey floral sweater. Florals are listed as one of 2013's biggest trends and a sweater is an important piece to have for emergency situations, plus a sweater as an accessory instantly makes you look ‘sophisticated.'"

Look No. 2: Summer Chic

"I chose a stripe/nautical dress, which I spruced up with a belt, pair of flats and a carry-all bag. Again, a summer dress is a must have – I found one in Dorothy Perkins, nautical, very spring!"

Look No. 3: Glam Luxe

"It's always good to be prepared for occasion, events or parties that might happen during your vacation. This dress from DP is my ultimate fave, makes me feel like a "Spanish Senorita" -- a hot wardrobe staple for a night out!

It’s All About the Colors

Dog lover and aspiring doctor Kristine Villano of www.kweshiedoodles.com considers stacking her wardrobe with colorful ensemble, sheer outfits and sexy cutouts for her to brave the summer heat.

Look No. 1: Army Chic

"I wanted to do an army-inspired attire. No doubt, Dorothy Perkins really had olive green skinny jeans in the store. All that was left to do is to look for something to pair with it. Luckily, I saw the leather jacket and fell in love with it in an instant. I thought, 'Why not kill two birds with one stone and wear two trendy pieces at the same time!?' It was just the perfect match for the olive green skinny jeans. Leather + olive green skinny jeans just scream edgy, strong and fashionable. Just to add a feminine touch to the look, I used a nude color top with sparkling beading."

Look No. 2: Color of the Year

"I wanted to do a look with the Pantone color of the year Emerald Green. I immediately saw the sexy emerald green lace peplum top hanging on the racks. At first, I wanted to pair it with a complementary color to make the emerald green hue stand out more, but instead, I opted for a more corporate and classy look. So I paired the emerald green top with the all time basic black skinny pants. To add a little bit of ‘oomph’ to the look, I cinched my waist with a thin animal printed belt and used a studded embellished clutch."

Look No. 3: Dark & Sexy

For a long time, I wanted to wear the color because it gives off a mysterious and dark sexy vibe. When I saw the oxblood blazer in Dorothy Perkins, I said to myself "that blazer is absolutely coming with me!" For the inner clothing, I used a white peplum top which was such a great choice because the oxblood color made the peplum top popped out more.
