DABAWENYO band enthusiasts. brace yourself. Beer leader San Miguel Beer brings to Davao City one of the country's top performing bands to entertain Dabawenyos and guests this Kadayawan season.

SpongeCola will be performing live at Rizal Park on San Pedro street on Friday evening as the main act to various local performing bands in an SMB-sponsored musical show.

SpongeCola will be joined by a new performing band Grace Note.

This year's Kadayawan celebration is expected to be star-studded with the country's giant networks bringing in their brightest television stars to entertain guests and Dabawenyo fants.

RK Bagatsing of the afternoon teleserye Wildflower on ABS-CBN will be at NCCC Mall of Davao to grace its Kasadya ug Musika sa Kadayawan that also features Dominic Roque and Albie Casino on Saturday.

Both Roque and Casino appeared in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. Also performing is Davao's own and the very first The Voice Teens grand winner, Jona Soquite.

Likewise, NCCC Mall Davao showcases Davao's rich culture and heritage with Sayaw ng Kulturang Pilipino Inter-School Competition on August 20 at 1 p.m. Fifteen private and public elementary schools will compete to bag the P10,000 first prize while the second and third runners-up will receive P5,000 and P3,000, respectively.

On the same day, the fun continues as the lead stars of "100 tula para kay Stella", Bela Padilla and JC Santos, bring entertainment to Dabawenyos.

The film, featured in Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, is about a stuttering college student who writes 100 poems for Stella, the university rock chick. Joining Padilla and Santos is The Voice Teens semi-finalist, Chan Millanes. The show starts at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, GMA Network is set to bring some of its biggest stars, led by Alyas Robin Hood himself, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, to this city this week.

The cast of the highest rating daytime drama -- Ika-6 Na Utos treat their loyal fans to a Kapuso Mall Show. Sunshine Dizon, Ryza Cenon, Mike Tan, and Gabby Concepcion will be at Gaisano Mall Davao for the mall show that will begin at 4 p.m.

The four Kapuso actors bring to life the characters of Emma, Georgia, Angelo, and Rome.

The following day (August 18), upcoming primetime series My Korean Jagiya will bring the kilig to Dabawenyos a few days before it airs its pilot episode.

Philippine TV's Sweetheart Heart Evangelista-Escudero leads the stars who will be at the Kapuso Mall Show at SM City Davao at 4 p.m.

Joining Heart is her leading man, newest Kapuso actor Alexander Lee. Adding fun to the event are Edgar Allan Guzman and Myke Salomon.

Providing more entertainment to the mall show are the new hosts of All-Star Videoke, Solenn Heussaff and Betong Sumaya. All-Star Videoke is set to make a comeback on television soon and Solenn and Betong will surely give the audience a peek of what to expect from the musical game show.

On Sunday, August 20, fresh from its successful second season return, the hit primetime series Alyas Robin Hood will surely make the Kadayawan Festival extra special as Dingdong banners the Kapuso Float during the Pamulak sa Kadayawan or the Kadayawan Float Parade at 8 a.m. The Alyas Robin Hood actor will be joined by his leading ladies Andrea Torres and Solenn.

Come afternoon, Dingdong, Andrea, and Solenn will head to SM City Davao for a Kapuso Mall Show at 3 p.m. Spreading kilig as well in the mall show are Dave Bornea and Lindsay de Vera who play Julian and Lizzy in the series.

Last week, hit telefantasya series Mulawin vs. Ravena kicked off the Kapuso Network’s participation in this year's Kadayawan celebration. Miguel Tanfelix and Derrick Monasterio, who play Pagaspas and Almiro in the series respectively, flew to Davao City for a Kapuso Mall Show in Gaisano Mall Toril.

"We always look forward to celebrate the Kadayawan Festival with our Kapusong Dabawenyos," said GMA's vice president and head of Regional TV Oliver Amoroso.

"This year, we are proud to bring some of the biggest and brightest stars of today, with no less than Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and Philippine TV's Sweetheart Heart Evangelista-Escudero leading the list of celebrities joining the Kadayawan Festival activities. We will continue to treat our loyal viewers to these events as our way of thanking them for keeping GMA Network number 1 nationwide," he added.
