Friday, September 29, 2017

UNITY among barangay officials and residents of Barangay Agdao Proper in second District of Davao City led to the success of its 34th year founding anniversary celebration last September 28, Thursday.

Agdao Proper Barangay Captain Rodolfo A. Cagatin thanked his council members and barangay functionaries for their all-out support in making the weeklong events worthwhile and memorable to the people.

Cagatin, accompanied by barangay kagawads, led the Pamukaw at 5 a.m. A thanksgiving Mass was then held hours later at the Barangay Hall for the fruitful 34 years of the barangay.

Some senior citizens also took part in the celebration, proving that age does not matter. They competed in the singing and dance competitions.

On Tuesday evening, barangay functionaries also showcased their talents on stage to entertain the crowd.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio, for her part, sent staff from different agencies of the city government to render their services to the public by holding a Government Services Caravan during the culmination day last Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Residents and non-residents of Agdao Proper availed of the medical and dental services of the Davao City Health Office. Pet lovers also brought their dogs and cats for the free vaccination program of the Davao City Veterinarian’s Office. Also represented were the Office of the Civil Registrar, Davao City Social Services and Development Office, Davao City Legal Office and the Barangay and Cultural Communities Affairs Division (Bccad).

Private companies had put up booths to recruit workers for stores and farms.

Cagatin said he hopes for a bigger celebration next year.
