REAL estate giant Filinvest Land Incorporated (Filinvest) will be entering the hotel industry in Davao City this year as it plans to construct two hotels right in the heart of the city.
Tristan Las Marias, Filinvest vice president for Visayas and Mindanao, said they are going to put up a condominium-hotel on their three-hectare property fronting the future site of the first Ayala-owned and operated mall in Mindanao, the Abreeza.

"The property is right beside Redemptorist Church, along J.P. Laurel Avenue. It's right across Abreeza," Las Marias said.
The infrastructure will be put up by Filinvest while the actual operations of the hotel will be undertaken by Ashton International.
Ashton International has hotel operations in Southeast Asia.
