    Firemen post second win in Rody-Sara Cagefest


    THE Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) cruised to its second win after beating the Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Force, 109-103, in the Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte and Vice Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-AFP/PNP Basketball Tournament Sunday at the Barangay 5-A gym.

    Kristian Lord Coquilla led BFP with 31 points, while John Rey Sadio topscored for PNP-SAF with 23 points.

    PNP-SAF suffered its first loss in two games.

    In the other games, the Philippine Navy (1-2) edged the 10th Infantry Division (1-2), 80-79, with Roosevelt Calogcog heading the scoring chores with 23 points, while Dennis Barrete fired 17 baskets and his efforts was not enough to lead the 10th ID to victory.

    The City Mayor's Office drubbed the Task Force Davao, 97-85 with Christopher "Bong" Go hitting seven three-point shots out of his 32 total points for CMO's second victory as TFD dropped to its third setback. Elmer Tadtad scored 17 points to lead his team.

    Police Regional Office (PRO)-Southern Mindanao tallied its third straight victory at the expense of Air Force, 101-98.

    Freddie Jhon Geverola canned in 20 points to ensure the victory of PRO-11 against the Arvin Callano and Lt. Maduma-led Airmen who tallied 17 points each.

    Games were scheduled Wednesday, according to tournament coordinator Cheryl Y. Montejo of the Sports Development Division, featuring the Coast Guard against the 22nd Light Armor Company at 5 p.m., Task Force Davao against the Navy at 6:30 p.m., Air Force against the Davao City Police Office at 8 p.m. and the City Mayor's Office against the BFP at 9:30 p.m.
