THE Commission on Higher Education (Ched) National Games Davao City eliminations will start advance games in basketball and volleyball on December 5 and 6.

This was bared by Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Southern Mindanao executive director Joaquin "Boy" Sarabia to sportswriters recently.

"There will be no Prisaa meet this time as Ched will be the one to hold national games. Instead of holding the regular city and regional eliminations of the Prisaa, we will hold the Ched eliminations instead," Sarabia said.

He said there's a need to advance the games in basketball and volleyball since most of the 17 participating schools will send their teams.

"We will hold the advance games every Saturday and Sunday. The city eliminations proper will yet be held on December 20 to 23," Sarabia said.

Top city athletes will then advance to the regional qualifying set in the second week of January next year enroute to the national championship set in February in Tacloban City. (MLSA)
