Roxy sets adventure among girls worldwide

CONFIDENT in the potential of the Davao market, Roxy Philippines set up its second and the biggest store in the country, at SM City Davao Annex, touted as the hippest mall in town.
"Davao is very promising and the market is still growing," Roxy brand manager Dino Gilladoga said Thursday in a media briefing.
He said the Davao store is much bigger as compared to their store at Robinson's Place in Malate, the first Roxy concept store in the country.
He said there are even more Roxy merchandise being offered at Roxy's store in the city. Roxy merchandise is also available at Quicksilver store at Abreeza Mall and Chimes Specialty Store.
Since its inception in 1990, Gilladoga said Roxy has grown to be a large high-end brand for young women. In addition to apparel, the brand also provides accessories, home items, hard goods for wakeboarding and surf, wetsuits, footwear, accessories, bags and several other product categories.
Roxy is the fashion apparel brand launched by its brother brand Quiksilver. In 1993, the Roxy logo was born, a heart-shaped crest adapted from Quiksilver's logo.
The Roxy brand also supports women in sports.
In fact, from February 23 to June 19, 2012, Roxy launched a global social media contest called Let the Sea Set You Free as a way to celebrate happiness, excitement, and adventure among girls from all over the world.
Divided into two equally special divisions, the global contest and the Southeast Asia contest, Roxy's Let the Sea Set You Free was well received by netizens from all over the world, especially in the Philippines which resulted to five deserving young ladies besting out the 71 entries received from the Philippines alone.
Having submitted creative video entries answering, "What makes you a Roxy girl?," Andrea Vega, Brei Cabreira, Patricia Mortel, Paula Felice Rosales, and Zoe Lim were chosen by the Roxy Philippines team to be the young finalists for the Southeast Asia prize.
Meanwhile, another exceptional young Filipina who joined the contest, Agatha Henry, was able to qualify as one of the 75 global finalists of Let the Sea Set You Free.
Held last July 5, at the Roxy Store at Robinsons Place Malate, Roxy Philippines presented a fun event featuring these five young ladies. And after a careful selection among the beautiful finalists, the Bali prize was bagged by Andrea Vega who was very much stoked after the announcement.
Do take note that the winner of the Southeast Asian-Philippines leg of Roxy's Let the Sea Set You Free contest will receive a wide range of awesome prizes starting with a trip to Bali, Indonesia for a 4-Day Roxy Adventure along with the other winners of the Southeast Asian leg; outfits courtesy of Roxy, surfing lessons from the Quiksilver Surf School, free accommodations at one of Bali's beautiful spa and health retreats, $500 spending money, a boat cruise to the beautiful Nusa Lembongin Island, and a day trip to Bali’s beautiful temples and cultural land marks. How cool is that? Along with Andrea Vega, top 75 global finalist, Agatha Henry, will also be joining her in this once in a lifetime experience as our country’s representatives.
The four-month global campaign had three winners -- Katie McLean from Sta. Barbara, CA, Emilie Layla Lovaine from Wales, UK, and Madison Setiawan from Bali, Indonesia.
Even though participants of the contest came from different countries and backgrounds, each they still all share a love for fashion, the arts, and of course, the water. Fully embracing what a Roxy girl should be.
Roxy received a total of about 5,000 video and photo submissions from 80+ countries.
Aside from the five finalists, the recent Roxy event also served as a culminating activity of the brand’s partnership with three local fashion bloggers namely, Vern Enciso, Kryz Uy, and Lissa Kahayon. Each of the three bloggers had the chance to design their own window displays, which were showcased in the Roxy store in Robinson’s Ermita.
