DABAWENYOS, who delight in Krispy Kreme's delectable doughnut varieties and coffee, have a reason to feast.
Krispy Kreme, which is one of the world’s favorite doughnut and coffee brand after introducing the Original Glazed Doughnut in 1937, has been exciting the world with a distinct confectionery experience brought by its delectable variety of offerings.
October 20 marks another milestone for Krispy Kreme as it added two more to its 690 shop count in 21 countries. The opening of two branches in Davao City – at the SM City Annex in Matina and Abreeza Mall – on October 20 brings to 38 the total number of Krispy Kreme shops nationwide.
Carolyn Trota-Salud, marketing director of Krispy Kreme franchise in the Philippines, said their excitement to open the first two branches in Mindanao has been finally realized.
Since Krispy Kreme opened its doors in the Philippines in 2006, Filipinos have fallen in love with its range of signature treats.
“In fact, when our first branch opened on Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City, more or less 6,000 dougnuts were sold during the opening day alone,” Trota-Salud said.
The opening of two stores in Davao, she said, was right in time as Krispy Kreme is celebrating its 75th year of bringing delicious tastes and fond memories worldwide.
According to Mark Gamboa, marketing manager of Krispy Kreme Philippines, there are sweet-toothed Filipinos in any part of the country.
"Having satisfied markets in Luzon and Visayas, we decided that we couldn’t leave Mindanao out, and so we are now finally bringing the confectionary goodness of our brand to the south as we expand in the region," Gamboa said.
Of course, Trota-Salud said, Dabawenyos wouldn’t miss the Krispy Kreme experience because its Abreeza Mall branch will feature the Baked Kitchen, where the brand's Baked Creations are freshly rolled out every day.
The store at the Annex at SM City Davao is Krispy Kreme’s 4th drive-through store in the country.
Notably, it is the first branch that operates in its own extended hours from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. It boasts of the Doughnut Factory, where thousands of the much-loved Original Glazed Doughnuts are produced daily. The popular hot light will signal that freshly baked doughnuts are up for free taste.
Krispy Kreme also assures that its range of offerings in the SM City and Abreeza branches are halal-certified.
And by the way, another Krispy Kreme store will open its doors at the SM Lanang Premier by next month.
