KINGSBRIDGE is a Facebook simulation game that I played. Its setting is the medieval times where lords ruled over villages and cities. At the start of the game you are given a rather small village to begin your quest. And just like any other simulation game you are given tasks to perform. They range from building homes and farms to constructing storages and the like.

I like doing this kind of game because it soothes my mind and it gives me the opportunity to "create" things. So there I was happily harvesting crops, building homes, expanding my village and doing all sorts of things. I was content and happy and I was having fun. I was minding my own business. Then I was attacked. Someone from the cyberworld just attacked and looted my village!

My first reaction to all this was to look at the state of my poor and ravaged village. Did they get everything? Did they destroy my buildings and homes and farms? That idiot nearly wiped out my village. He took my crops, my gold and yes even my lumber! Plus of course he damaged the structures I had patiently built. My second reaction was to look for the culprit who did it. Fortunately there is a battle log and from there you can see who attacked you. While was looking at the battle log, I was attacked again! I had to reload the game to find out who attacked me again. This time it was another person who managed to steal away my remaining crops and damage further my homes and buildings. What was I to do now, I pondered.

I mean, here I was. I was merely minding my own business and I was happy doing it. I looked forward to the new tasks. I even developed a strategy for getting maximum output from my products and at the same time not lose time. (After all, I had real work to do!) I was happy with my game, with what I was doing and then suddenly some clown attacks me when I am just living my life! ( Grabe ka drama dahil sa Facebook game ha!) And while I was deciding on what to do, yes, yes, I was again attacked. Three times by three different persons. My village was about gone. (Actually I knew I there was a possibility that I was going to be attacked because
the game said so! But in my innocent and perhaps naïve mind I hoped that people would never do this to a peaceful village like mine. Apparently I was wrong!)

This abuse was too much. Obviously you just cannot sit and harvest and build and wait until someone attacks you and steals all that is yours and then you do not do anything. That was one side. The other side was I played this game not to be attacked (but there was nothing I could do about that!) or worse, do the very thing did to me. So there I was facing my moral dilemma to turn the other cheek or to attack whoever attacked me. And guess what, yup. I was attacked once more. So I thought of a compromise. I would build an army and attack and the after that I would quit the game via "delete the apps" button.

And so I built my army. I built an army to its maximum number of soldiers. All my energies were focused in building my barracks for offense and building tower emplacements for the defense of my poor looted village. I surrounded my village with defensive emplacements. And I waited.

I promised myself that I would not attack first. I waited for them to attack and I was not disappointed. One of the four attacked me. I smiled. I actually smiled. I harnessed my army and raided the other guy's village. The attack is on automatic so when you unleash your troops they just do their job and you have no control over what they do. So there they were, my glorious army ransacking and looting and destroying my enemy. It was over in less than 3 minutes.

When the battle was over, I went home only to find out that someone attacked my village!

So I looked at my log and found out who it was who attacked. I gathered my forces and this time I launched my attack once more. My army was merciless and relentless as they smashed everything they saw. After it was done I went back home. But something happened. Something different happened. I changed or at least my purpose of playing now changed.

Wait for it in Kingsbridge, Part Two.
