Test your palate with Belgian Choco
-A A +AThursday, March 7, 2013
PUT your palate to test with this hot Belgian Chocolate at Zabadani, a Halal restaurant at The Peak of Gaisano Mall of Davao.
Most of the restos in the metropolis have savory dishes, pastries, and drinks, which they say, are what set them apart from the others.
Needless to say, Zabadani offers a wide variety of Middle-Eastern cuisines - 50 sumptuous food items at that. Some of them are what set Zabadani apart from a number of restos abound in the city today.
For instance, the Belgian Chocolate. It never really sounds something new nor does it ring a bell the first time you hear it.
The taste - thick texture and sweetness - is all the same as others. But, there really was a big difference in the taste, which can really push yourself to saying "No! One slurp is more than enough."
As warned ahead of time, Belgian Chocolate was going to be extremely spicy. There had been many people who tried the spicy drink but had not made it through as it stings a little to the tongue.
Well, it's my turn now to experience what others felt upon tasting what they consider to be a must-try at Zabadani.
Soon after I tasted it, the chocolate drink wasn't really bad at all, although my first few slurps had really made me cry a little because of its spicy flavor. But, I liked it. In fact, it's my new favorite.
"Maraming bumibili (Belgian Chocolate) pag-umuulan)," said Wadiyyulkhaar bin Mohammad "Wadi" Ali, co-owner of Zabadani.
Among the mouth-watering foods they offer are Syrian Beef Malfouf, shawarma, Chicken Pita Shateerah, Pita Cheese Sticks. Zabadani Minced Beef, Beef Shish, Garlic Rib, Syrian Beef Squares, Beef Kebab, Jambary Kebab, Syrian Beef Stew, Beef Falafel, and Beef Salpicao.
Zabadani also offers many options for desserts, such as; Qatayef, fluffy pancakes; Panna Cota; Chocolate Fudge; Pecan Pie; and Baklava.
