LAST Christmas, someone gave us a mini Pinscher. Cute dog. Mabait, tahimik and just fun to be with. We named him Scrappy. He is also a very intelligent dog. When we put him in his cage for the night, he does not complain and he just sits there and plays with his toys and after a while he goes to sleep or if he is still awake he does not bark and complain. He just sits there and watches.
Scrappy is a playful dog and he loves to go around the house scampering and jumping. He becomes happier when he gets to the yard because he goes all over the place. Sometimes, when he gets a little too naughty, we reprimand him and tell him to behave.
Scrappy knows when he did something because he hides under a chest in our lanai. We call out to him but he just stays there, I guess he knows he did something wrong.
When we get home, he jumps all over the place and runs to our room. He is such a character.
He rarely barks and is just a playful dog. We love Scrappy.
And that is why we thought of another dog. For all his playfulness, we thought we could buy another dog for Scrappy. We thought "baka lonely si Scrappy." So we went around and looked for a suitable partner. It was not long before we found one. We found her, yes her and she looked so cute and cuddly. A brown ball of fur with really cute eyes. And she looked so quiet too! We asked what breed she was and the man said, she is a Pomeranian. And because we were smitten by the pup, we bought it not knowing the traits of a Pomeranian.
When we brought her home, Scrappy was bewildered. He kept looking at the pup. After sometime, he started playing with his "friend." The poor pup could not do anything but surrender to the much bigger Scrappy who even though was a mini Pinscher was much bigger than the pup. They looked cute as they were playing but after a few moments, we noticed something. This pup was starting to get noisy and she would not take the teasings and the gnawings of Scrappy. In fact, she was starting to fight back whenever Scrappy would tease her. And Scrappy would back off a little. Hmmmm.
The first time when put the pup in her cage, she meekly entered. But that did not last long though. After a few minutes, she was complaining and crying and whimpering and after sometime, she was actually barking and whining. This pup was starting to get noisy. So we did the next best thing. We “googled” the Pomeranian. And then, we found out a few things but we were taken aback when we found out that the Pomeranian was really a breed that barked endlessly. Naku! How would Scrappy manage with that! More importantly how would WE manage? I mean the last thing we need is a pup who would not stop barking!
And true to form, the pup would not stop her incessant barking! She was making such irritating noises and she did not even have name yet!
Our first choice was Victoria because Queen Victoria had a Pomeranian. (googled it!)
When our kasambahay saw the pup, they said her name would be Luningning. When we brought her to the vet, she said Caramel. When we posted the query in Facebook, we got a variety of names. One even suggested Chewbacca. Finally, we decided to call her Java. Her full name though was Java, the Hot! Yes yes I know, poor pun! Then we changed the name again. This time it was Buchi.
Now, I hope that she will keep her barking to a minimum because if not I would have to call her Chewbacca again. Meanwhile, Scrappy is trying his very best to play and tease with Buchi. I hope he succeeds because that way Buchi will be too busy to bark!
Welcome Buchi! But please, sssshhhhh!
