Tying the knot-A A +A
Sunday, October 6, 2013
TWO lovers woke up to a no ordinary Thursday morning. As the glorious sun shone down on Earth, Germaine and Zaldy were prepping up for the day, as what millions of people do, except that it was more special for them than those ordinary days, as they hied not to the office but to their wedding.
Last September 26, 2013, Germaine, or fondly called Gem, and Zaldy finally tied the knot after years of being in a relationship in a garden wedding held at the Mergrande Beach Resort. The weather was also on their side, giving them a day so perfectly fit for the ceremony, which also added well to the solemnity of the place.
Prior to this long-awaited celebration, Zaldy, Gem said, was not the type of guy she likes. For her, he was a man who exuded nothing but an air or arrogance, and that quality of a man was never appealing for Gem.
Another thing that made their relationship almost close to being impossible was the competition among the schools - Gem, a graduate of AB Mass Communication at Holy Cross of Davao College and Zaldy at the University of Mindanao.
However, fate was unfazed by her constant whining, and instead bound their hearts together.
Who would've ever thought that its them out of hundreds, if not thousands of people whom they meet in each passing day, ended up marrying with.
"Sabi ko kay Lord, wag nya nang ibigay sa akin ang pinapangarap kong lalake, instead, ibigay nya sa akin yung lalaking idinesign nya para sa akin... nung nakilala kita, sabi ko... Lord, napaka-blessed ko naman... ang gwapo pala ng lalaking idini-senyo nyo sa akin," Gem said of Zaldy.
Zaldy, in return, vowed to Gem "I will always love you... and will still tell you and let you feel it every day.... I love you for who you are."
Truly, the wedding is just the beginning of a married life, obstacles may come along the way, but the newly-wedded couple has to live with it each day. As they say, when a chapter ends, there's another that opens.
The wedding was also attended by the parents of the couple - Ptr. Gerald and Mindalina Avanceña and Ernesto and Emelia Arenas.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Zaldy and Gem Arenas!
