Night of fun, love at The Ritz Hotel

-A A +A

THE best way to spend Valentine’s Day was to spend it with your loved ones in a setting surrounded with beautiful flowers, with a sweet background music that helped reaffirm your love for each other.

The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases did more than just that for those who chose to spend the Hearts’ Day in a celebration dubbed as “My Funny Valentine, a Comedy Show,” featuring the city’s stand-up comedians Quina and Yuki for only P888 per couple with free buffet dinner.

Since love is not only made for lovers, the Ritz Hotel thought of something that would make the night memorable not only for lovers but also for families and friends.

My boyfriend and I had our dinner date at the hotel. Actually, it was our first time in five years to spend Valentine’s Day in one of the chic hotels around the metro.

While chocolates, roses, soft toys and jewelries make popular Valentine’s Day gifts, but many would agree that a date is sure to make a more romantic experience. Food, they say, is the way to a loved one’s heart.

We entered the hall and saw unfamiliar guests in a red-lighted room, who arrived earlier than us, with their partners, friends or families, chatting and taking pictures with each another. That alone hinted me that it’s not going to be a love-filled evening, but a night full of fun.

Smiles were everywhere. Love was indeed at the Ritz Hotel!

Minutes before Quina and Yuki emerged on the stage, everyone got his/her fill of the delectable dishes prepared. Booze was also served. Of course, those who were of legal age were only allowed to drink.

Laughter was drawn at the hall when Quina and Yuki took center stage and started to deliver their punch lines. They recited a fast-paced grouping of humorous stories and short jokes. They sang and even impersonated famous singers. Anyway, we all like to laugh, and generally it made us feel better.

The idea of having the two on that special night reminded everyone that it’s OK to laugh hard after a day from work and school. And, laughing is priceless especially when you laugh with the ones you love.
Deep and loving relationships are built by doing simple things together, like dining out with family and friends or by just having fun together.

The Ritz Hotel’s My Funny Valentine, A Comedy Show was a testimony that Valentine’s Day is not only made to spend with your girlfriend/boyfriend, but with the people in your life who wanted you be part of the family or just be friends, who will do anything to see you smile, and who will love you no matter what.
