More shrimps and crabs-A A +A

THERE’S one more shrimps and crabs place that is worth a visit in Davao!
With friends barely having a life, every invitation they send out is grabbed even if it means dragging along a trolley bag, hand-carried luggage, computer bag, and all, straight from a one and a half-hour delayed flight for a late dinner at around 9 p.m.
Trisha and Deng were already very hungry, while I was still in a taxi along the Diversion Road. My only instruction, they can eat ahead, just make sure that Deng takes photos of everything before they are eaten.
Deng did a great work of that, having taken photos of what the other table was eating as well.
“Kasi shrimps lang order natin, sila merong crabs,” Trisha said.
Great! It helps that the family at the other table is that of Doc Rovic’s. We get to take a photo of their crab.
Wait… where are we?
Oh yes, I forgot, we are at Bucket Shrimps, the new restaurant at Metro Lifestyle Building along F. Torres Street that has replaced the Krua Thai Restaurant.
We had adobo, calamares, pinakbet with porkchop, and yes, a bucket of shrimps.
Among the three that we had, the calamares was the sore toe. It wasn’t worthy of any review. Period.
The shrimps are good, but then, shrimps are always good for as long as they are fresh. The adobo deserves a second serving, and so is the pinakbet. The vegetables are cooked just right with still a bit of crunch to each bite and not soggy.
The crabs look great. But with three viands, we could no longer fit in any more.
But we had another concession that night. Deng’s sister just happened to be nearby, and so willingly joined us to order dessert: turon.
Yeps. We were that full such we also didn’t have enough tummy space for the turon. But again, it was good.
Our shrimps in a bucket were sautéed in garlic. I still have to try the other ways they do their shrimp, crabs, and mussels: In butter garlic, spicy with coconut milk, but most especially with crab paste (taba ng talangka). Next time.
