IN its aspiration for “Performance Elevated,” Mountain Hardwear, the leading outdoor brand, backed 4th Mt. Apo Boulderface Challenge as official outfitter of the racers and marshals.

Slated last April 26 and 27 in Sta. Cruz Davao del Sur, the race aimed to conquer the highest peak in the country in just 24 hours which would normally take 72 hours for the lay man. Geared to elevate the performance of each team, Boulderface employed 4 disciplines, namely Mountain biking, mountain trekking, water tubing and road running. According to race director, Eng. Albert Gabriel, using 4 disciplines aims to level the plainfield for all participants because each racer has their own forte.

Specializing in lightweight apparels, Races like the Mt. Apo Boulderface is what Mountain Hardwear is made for. True enough, powered by Mountain Hardwear gears, the Mountain Hardwear/Whitepeak team nabbed the coveted 3rd place with a time of 13 hours 40 minutes 11 seconds. Composed of Dexter Nonato and Marcial Catanggi, the tandem bested 12 other powerful contenders in the elite category winning Php75,000 cash (courtesy of Franklin &Baker) and Mountain Hardwear bags worth Php15,000.
