Giddy and stuffed

-A A +A

GREEK is one cuisine that we still have to have in Davao. Thus, you might just want to try it when you’re not in Davao… like at the Ayala Terraces in Cebu.

Cyma is also in Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Greenbelt, Trinoma, Eastwood, and there's one in Boracay, I was told. (Although Boracay just isn't my thing. After having been tehre twice, I didn't find reason nor urge to try it again). But it was only in Cebu when I was really able to gorge. That’s because I was in the company of friends who didn’t have much qualms about ordering a lot. Burp!

Promise, it was a LOT.

We started slow with Roka salata that had Romaine lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes and walnuts. It was light, it was refreshing. Then came the feast. The Kotopoulo Lemonato described as the Greek chicken adobo, Paidakia (grilled lamb), mahi-mahi, and tangigue. I loved the chicken (maybe because it’s still adobo, the grilled lamb was perfect. The mahi-mahi and tangigue were… blame my spoiled Dabawenyo tongue, but the freshest fish can only be had in our part of the world – Mindanao. Cebu isn’t part of this. But hey, I can have fish anytime, it’s the lamb that I feasted on.

I thought that was the end, my tummy was just about ready to burst. But Michelle insisted, we simply cannot leave without trying their dessert, and quickly ordered the sampler. Being a sampler, it has four slices of different Greek desserts.

The Baklava (the Greek sapin-sapin made of walnuts and honey), Galaktobourek (custard with a citrusy flavor), Ryzogalo (rice pudding with cocoa powder), and Yiaourti Me Meli (yoghurt with pistachios and honey).

Wait, there’s more! Somebody seems to have homicidal plans (death by overfeeding), she topped that with a Skolatina (molten chocolate cake served ala mode).

Suffice it to say, we were more than satisfied, we were giddy. Just a word of advice: indulge your fish cravings in Mindanao, we get the freshest of the lot.
