SIX months after it was launched, Lamudi PH (www.lamudi.com.ph) became the most visited property portal in the Philippines.

It also launched regional office here in Mindanao at Davao City a month ago.

Web Traveller (WB) had the opportunity to get to know Lamudi PH more after a chat with Jacqueline van den Ende (JVDE), co-founder and managing director of Lamudi Philippines.

WB: After your launch here in Davao City, what are your other plans or goals here in Mindanao?

JVDE: Our mission here is to ensure that we are the number one real estate in the Philippines but also particularly here in Mindanao. So that every property that is for sale or for rent here in Mindanao will be on Lamudi and that everyone in Mindanao will know that they can find their dream home here on our website. We now have a regional office here in Davao City and from there we will make a lot of trips to other cities like General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, and Mati City.

WB: How has been the reception after the launch here?

JVDE: Positive in a sense that we are the first real estate platform here in Davao City. On the other hand, people really still need to learn how to work with online tools like Lamudi and see what the benefit is. The market is still relatively offline and we really need to educate the market to go online.

WB: Here in Davao City, what kind of property listings do you have mostly?

JVDE: In Davao, there are mostly a lot of land and residential properties but there are also a few commercial properties.

WB: What are the advantages of selling real estate properties on line?

JVDE: You can reach people outside of your own network. Furthermore, there is unlimited inventory to put an unlimited number of information on the property. A big advantage is that Lamudi functions like a shopping mall, so we gather all property listings throughout the Philippines such that consumers can only go to one place if they are looking for a property.

WB: What makes the real estate scene of Mindanao different from those in Visayas or Luzon?

JVDE: Here in Mindanao we would have more land properties compared to the ones in Manila which are more on residential and commercial properties.

WB: What is your aim for the end of this year for Davao City and the country as a whole?

JVDE: Is to [continue to] be the number one online platform in the Philippines but we want to have a higher number of listings by the end of the year. We want the people to recognize Lamudi so that they will say visit our online portal to look for properties.

Increase brand awareness among consumers. And to have most number of complete property listings in Mindanao and the Philippines.

Lamudi is part of the Rocket Internet company, which is known to be one of the fastest and the most successful online venture builder across the globe. Its other ventures in the Philippines include Carmudi, EasyTaxi, Lamido, Lazada, Zalora, Foodpanda, and Pricepanda.
