SOPHIE Paris Philippines, one of the country's top direct-selling companies, held a beauty competition here last July 26, at 3:00 pm, at the Gaisano Grand Mall on Ilustre Street.

The pageant, which is an annual event, aimed to find the perfect epitome of true Sophie Paris beauty - someone who makes her own fashion style while she consistently creates her own business, as what the company tagline communicates: Make your own fashion. Create your own business.

The competition was participated in by five beautiful ladies representing the business centers in Davao City, Isulan in Sultan Kudarat, Tandag in Suriga odel Sur, Prosperidad in Agusan del Sur, and Zamboanga City. The Sophie Paris beauties already underwent a rigorous phase as they had to make it on top during the pre-selection level in their respective business centers.

During the said regional leg (which is the 2nd for Mindanao), Ms.Zamboanga City Lizzie White was able to snatch the title as she scored high in beauty (face, figure, skin tone, and body proportion), confidence (poise, posture, smile, and attitude), and intelligence (tact, wit, sensibility).

She was likewise successful in showing to the judges and the spectators that she is a certified Sophienista who still has grace even under pressure and the power to excel in various Sophie challenges. Apart from being the Ms. Sophie Mindanao 2, White also got the Best in Evening Gown award.

Ms. Davao City Janette Sturm went home as 1st runner up, while Ms.Tandag Grace Chui was hailed as the 2nd runner up. Ms. Isulan Jenny Maghari was awarded as Ms. Photogenic while Ms. Prosperidad Bernadeth Daugdaug got the Sophie Total Look special award.

Rozel Calibara-Gubi of Sophie Paris-Davao said that the winning candidate here will be pitted against 13 other national finalists on October 4 at the Solaire Resort & Casino Grand Ballroom in Metro Manila. On the other hand, the country's winning Ms. Sophie will be sent to Indonesia, the homeland of Sophie Paris, for the international competition in November.

Apart from the cash prizes and supply of Sophie Paris beauty products, the winning Ms. Sophie Philippines will become the face of the company's product catalogues. And if the Philippine contender will grab the Ms. Sophie International title, she will have the opportunity to experience an all-expense-paid trip to Paris, France.

Ms. Calibara-Gubi said that more than the conduct of the beauty competition, the company is committed "to provide quality yet reasonably priced products that will enable women to look and feel beautiful, consequently, becoming confident and ready to face the world, without breaking the bank."

"Sophie delivers happiness. We try to live up to that with a wide choice of great value products and providing a real life changing opportunity in improving our dealer/members' financial incomes," she said.

To those who want to become the next Ms. Sophie Philippines, you may visit its Davao Business Center on Pichon St. corner Pelayo St., Davao City from Monday to Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. You may also contact them at (0922) 845-9111 or (0999) 471-6400 or you may check them on Facebook via the sophieparisdavaocity account.
