IT HAS been 30 years since High School.

And to celebrate that midlife journey, the Ateneo de Davao High School Batch 1984 partook in a two-day celebration of fun and camaraderie.
The homecoming event started with a Holy Mass at the Ateneo Grade School chapel officiated by Fr. Mario Masancay, a member of the batch.

Lunch followed at the Yellow Fin Seafood Restaurant then the group proceeded to their outreach activity at the Missionaries of Charity orphanage (Home of the Sick and Malnourished Children) in Molave Street, Juna Subdivision.

Benevolent sponsors of their outreach program were (Unilab, Rose Pharmacy, Kalbe Nutribars and Philips Avent Feeding Bottles) they donated more than P50,000 worth of milk products, multivitamins, medicines and goods to the orphanage.

Other sponsors Tanduay, Detpack International, Procter & Gamble (Ariel) Philippines and a personal donation from a sponsor who wishes to remain anonymous also helped to make the event a resounding success.

It can be noted that a good number of batch '84 members flew in from overseas to bond and reminisce their memorable good old days.

Day 1 capped with a nightout at TioCococ'sResto and Bar at Legaspi Suites. The fun and laughter never seemed to end as the group eagerly greeted each familiar face, proving that distance and time are not hindrances to true friendship.

Day 2 was an island hopping adventure in Samal Island. The wacky bunch toured Talikud Island, Angel's Cove, Babu Santa Beach, Coral Garden, Isla Christina, Pacific Little Secret and Wishing Island.

The island-hopping experience was made all the more unique with a mid-sea Holy Mass which culminated the two-day celebration. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Louie David, S.J., one of the beloved teachers of the batch.

They day ended with another batch of lifetime memories with the Pearl Knight jammers excitedly anticipating their 40th anniversary homecoming.
