Doña Pilar Learning Center celebrates 23rd Foundation Day

DOÑA Pilar Learning Center celebrated its 23rd Foundation Day last October 22.

The school was founded by Dr. Julian P. Rodriguez Jr. in 1988 under sole proprietorship. He turned it into foundation, the Doña Pilar Learning Center Foundation Inc., (DPLCFI) in 1990.

It started with nursery, kindergarten and Grade 1 course with only 107 pupils. Each school-year, the school added a new grade level until it completed the elementary grades in 1993-1994 with 491 pupils.

Presently, it is offering complete preschool and grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

According to Federico Garcia, Jr. DPLCFI acting head, population for school year 2010 has already reached 871.

"Values and discipline are always integrated in the academic subjects and in all the activities of the pupils. The school is declared by its Board of Trustees as an 'English Speaking School'," according to the manual prepared by Garcia.

The Doña Pilar Learning Center is primarily intended to serve the school children of Sasa-Pampanga and nearby areas by providing them quality education at a lowest cost possible, the manual says.

It is committed to the preservation of Filipino ideals and Christian principles and aims to develop the child's spiritual, moral, physical, social, economic and aesthetic personality.
