ISYU Karon Southern Mindanao, GMA Network's newest public affairs program, debuted with a bang on its early morning timeslot, winning the hearts of its viewers with content that ranges from light-hearted to heavy issues.

GMA Channel 5's iSYU Karon (Southern Mindanao) chalked-up 6.9 percent on its premier, vis-a-vis competition's 3.7 percent rating.

On its pilot telecast, iSYU Karon featured the life of the living who, for almost two decades, finds shelter among the dead. Hosted by Testigo's senior correspondent John Paul Seniel, iSYU Karon Southern Mindanao promises that Saturday morning viewing for Southern Mindanao will never be the same again.

The premier night last October 29 at People's Park was well-attended by students, members of the academe, and local officials. Mayor Sara Duterte even stayed throughout the premiere in support of the program.

Mayor Duterte praised the new public affairs program of GMA Channel 5 Davao. She even agreed to be the subject of the "isyusera" segment and added that iSYU Karon will last because it is the only program that focuses on various issues not only in Davao City but in the entire Southern Mindanao as well.

For this Saturday's episode, iSYU Karon will tackle the plight of the children living along the borders of Bukidnon and Davao City. Focus will shift towards the children in poblacion with varying talents as well as standard of living.

All of these and more on iSYU Karon, this Saturday, at 7 a.m., only in GMA Channel 5 Davao.
