THE company in charge of a promotion campaign for Davao City has presented its proposed brand logo for Davao, which Mayor Sara Duterte also preferred.
Eastgate Publishing Corporation (EPC) presented a monochromatic themed logo that shows Mt. Apo's ascent with a graphic of the Philippine Eagle soaring, and printed in the center is "Davao" in tribal font. The base of the logo has Mt. Apo's reflection that showcases the Gulf of Davao.
"This also represents the 'Highland to Island' promotional advertisement before by the city," said Jun Ventura, president of EPC.
The logo has a distinct phrase below it, which spells out the word "eco.city", a minimalist look that has a trendy appeal to modern travelers.
"Everyone who sees it can visualize and imagine what this city has to offer," said Ventura.
Sonny Dizon, consultant to the City Tourism Office, also favors the new brand, adding Task Force Ecocity will be created.
The Task Force will be in charge of minimal infrastructure repairs and additional eco-friendly enhancements like, creating bike lanes for bikers, enhance sidewalks and organize eco-adventure events to entice tourists.
EPC's team of experts will also be launching a website for Davao, which will be further discussed with the City Tourism Office and the mayor herself.
