POLICE still do not have a suspect in the killing of a Manila-based businessman in a hotel room despite images of the suspect taken by a close-circuit television camera.
Norman K. Dy, 51, president of MKD Trading Corporation and resident of Banawe Street, Quezon City, was found dead inside his room at D'Leonor Hotel last May 16.
The Davao City Police Office Intelligence and Detection Management Branch (DCPO-IDMB) said all the images from the CCTV camera of a man wearing a cap are grainy.
Senior Police Officer 4 Edward Ramirez, chief clerk of DCPO-IDMB, said they are hoping to convert the footage to a high-resolution image.
The suspect described to be of medium build and around 21-30 years old was the last person seen in the video footage going out of the victim's room.
Ramirez added that the hotel staff is also not helpful.
"Keso sa dami ng tao hindi na daw nila matandaan kung sinu-sino ang pumasok. Hindi rin nila ma-figure-out yung lalaki na nasa video footage," Ramirez said.
Ramirez added the family of the victim has been informed. He added that the family also cannot think of anyone whom the victim may have had a fight with.
"Hindi kasi Manila and Davao City lang pinupuntahan ng biktima, kundi all over in this country. So sa part nung pamilya niya, wala naman daw naikwento sa kanila na problema," Ramirez said.
At present, they are just determining whether other personal items are missing. During initial investigation, only the cellphone of the victim was missing.
