Junk buses catch fire

AROUND 37 units of junk buses and two houses were razed by fire in separate incidents in Davao City on Christmas Eve.
The early morning fire in Saint Luke, Mangahan, Toril, around 8:25 a.m. gutted down two houses, including boarding houses owned by Bienvenido Ortez, while the other house was owned by Richard Serrano.

Reports said the incident started at the rented room of one Elmer Tago and was attributed to an electrical short circuit.

Firefighters of the Toril Fire Station, Chinese Filipino Fire Volunteer, and 911 Fire Brigade were able to place the fire under control around 9 a.m.
No one was hurt in the blaze. But around P500,000 worth of properties went up in smoke.
Meanwhile, the authorities still have no lead on the fire incident at garage-shop of LCI Bus Company at Diho 4 Subdivision in Maa where 37 junk buses were razed.
The fire incident started around 7 p.m. while most of the people are busy preparing for the Christmas Eve.
Initial investigation showed that one Rizalino De Jesus Pagdanganan, 43, a resident of Block 2 Lot 11 of the same place noticed the smolder coming from the compound of LCI bus and call the 911.
Firefighters of 911 Auxiliary, Chinese Filipino Fire Volunteers, Barangay Maa Penetrators, and Talomo Fire Station, were able to control the fire around 10:15 p.m.
No casualties were reported. Around P500,000 worth of properties were damaged in the incident.
