Mayor: Only 15% infra completed-A A +A
Monday, January 9, 2012
THE Davao City Government has accomplished only 15 percent of identified infrastructure projects funded by the city, Mayor Sara Duterte said in her press briefing at the City Hall Monday.
"We are not on track with the infrastructure projects funded in 2011 and by the 2010's fourth supplemental budget (SB4)," she told reporters.
Citing data from the City Engineer's Office (CEO) and General Services Office (GSO), Duterte did not elaborate on what prevented the accomplishment of majority of the projects.
"Naay problems sila sa pag-implement sa projects (They had experienced some problems in implementing the projects)," the mayor said.
Of the P4.11 billion budget for 2011, nearly P534,300 had been allotted for priority infrastructure projects.
Duterte recently said majority of the infrastructure projects being prioritized by her administration are geared toward improving the drainage system of the city as well as keeping the city's streets among the best roads across the region if not in the whole country.
There has been no observable change in the state of the roads in the city, so far.
