THE Davao City Government has started preparing for the 75th Araw ng Dabaw celebration slated March 16.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, in her weekly press briefing held at the City Hall Monday, announced that several private partners have signified their interest in partnering with the city in organizing the festival.

Among the private entities who will act as steering committees for various events include Duaw Davao Festival Foundation, Davao City Chinatown Development Council (DCDC), Davao Association of Tour Operators (Dato), GMA Network, among others.

Duterte, however, said the city is yet to deliberate how much will be allocated for the city's diamond anniversary.

The city has set aside P3.9 million for last year's Araw ng Dabaw, which was way lower than what has been allocated for the same festival in 2010 amounting to P7 million. (Jereco O. Paloma)
