THE newly installed director of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) welcomes New People’s Army (NPA) members who will help maintain peace and order in the city.
In the I-speak Forum at City Mayor's Office, Senior Superintendent Ronald dela Rosa, DCPO director, said he has nothing against the presence of the NPA members in the city so long the communists will not commit crimes.
"I haven't seen most of them in the city. But if they want to go inside here without their firearms, dili sila manhilabot, wala pay charges naka-file against them, and they will abide the law, so far so good," dela Rosa said.
Rebels who commit crimes will be arrested the same way with those who have warrants of arrest.
Dela Rosa said for as long as the communists would respect the people and government of Davao and agree with the police and military for the peace and order in the city, there would be no problem between them.
"This is much better -- helping one another for our families and children and for the peace and order of Davao City," Dela Rosa said. (Ivy C. Tejano)
