City Hall spends P3.6M in 2011

DAVAO City has spent P3.6 billion in 2011, translating to 80 percent of its total gross income for the same year.
Based on the city's statement of income and expenses for the calendar year 2011, the city has a total gross income of P4,573,259,181.20 and a total of P3,656,179,496.79 has been spent the whole year.

A large chunk of the money spent by the city in 2011 which translates to 25 percent of the total expenditures went to personal services totaling P918,255,978.78.
Under the personal services, the city spent P585,114,8117.26 for the salaries and wages for regular employees; other compensation at P179,171,764.54; and personnel benefits contributions as well other benefits at P153,969,396.98.
Aside from the personnel services expenses, the city also spent a total of P607,214,116.54 or 16 percent of the total expenditure for 2011 for the maintenance and other operating expenses.
In terms of income generation, the sector that brought in the largest income share in 2011 was franchise taxes, pegged at P85,773,240.87 followed by income generated from fines and penalties under the local taxes at P65,276,888.49. (Jereco O. Paloma)
