TWO men are facing charges for misrepresenting themselves as City Environment and Natural Resources (Cenro) employees as they solicited money from employees of a shopping mall in Davao City.
Charged with usurpation of authority before the Municipal Trial Court in Cities are Conrado Asoy, 35, of Piapi, and Victoriano Mendoza, 34, of Fatima street.

In an affidavit, Rolando Arellano of Cenro said he received a call from Sonny Baron, administrative officer of Cenro, that there are two men who posed themselves as garbage collectors on February 15.
Court records showed that the accused presented a solicitation letter to mall employees, claiming the proceeds will be used for Cenro's party at Times Beach.
Arellano said he immediately checked with their office and found out that the suspects are not employees of the government office. He called for police assistance, thus the arrest of the suspects.
In his resolution, Prosecutor Marte Melchor Velasco said "the mere act of posing as garbage collectors of Cenro, knowing to be false is enough to indict the two."
The City Prosecution Office recommended P10,000 bail each for the respondents temporary liberty. (Arianne Caryl N. Casas)
