100 police officers to be deployed for Araw ng Dabaw

THE Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) is set to assign 100 personnel to help the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) in maintaining peace and order in the city on the 75th Araw ng Dabaw celebration.
Superintendent Florencio T. Ortilla, RPSB-Davao Region commander, said this is in response to the directive of Police Regional Office-Davao director Jaime H. Morente to intensify police visibility in the region especially in Davao City, where recent crime incidents are increasing.

Ortilla said their personnel will be utilized as support team to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) to be deployed in different areas of the metropolis particularly on the crime-prone areas identified as San Pedro, Juan Luna, Chavez Streets, R. Magsaysay Avenue, Barrio Obrero, Quezon Boulevard, among others.
He added that there will be random checkpoints and foot and mobile patrols to be conducted in Davao City in coordination with the Task Force Davao (TFD), based from the directive of the regional director.
Ortilla appealed to the public to coordinate with the authorities to thwart any possible untoward incidents. (Ivy C. Tejano)
