Asked of her priority as the new council secretary, Santos said: “Wala naman akong extraordinary na mga preparations kay routinary lang man gihapon ni siya na mga trabaho (I don’t have any extraordinary preparations because my new post have become part of my routine).”
Santos will replace outgoing council secretary Margarito dela Cruz who held the position for almost two years after Zuleika Lopez, who is now the acting City Administrator.
Santos started working with the City Council in 1981.
Santos admitted that she was surprised when Vice Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte officially announced during Tuesday’s regular session that she will assume the post.
Wednesday was the last day of dela Cruz after he celebrated his 65th birthday - the mandatory age of retirement for public officials. (Jereco O. Paloma)
