AN OFFICIAL of the Davao City Public Safety Command Center (DCPSCC) denied on Monday accusations that some of his personnel extort money from erring drivers.
Retired Colonel Magno Adalin Jr., DCPSCC head, was reacting to radio reports that some of his personnel extort money from habal-habal drivers plying the Toril and Talomo routes.
Adalin, in a telephone interview, said his personnel are well disciplined and complaints came from sourgraping motorcycle drivers.
"This is not true. I am very keen in observing my personnel. Nasasabi lang nila yan dahil nahuli sila (They are just sour-graping because they were arrested)," Adalin said.
Adalin dared motorcycle drivers soliciting passengers along national highways to express their sentiments or file their complaints against Anti-Crime Unit personnel before the DCPSCC.
The report was also brought to the attention of Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte, who said she will validate the complaints.
Adalin added that he is open for investigation as he trusts his men.
If ever the reports are true, Adalin said, he will not hesitate to terminate the concerned personnel.
