Aguirre: It's more fun in Davao than at impeach trial

CONTROVERSIAL private prosecutor in the ongoing impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona, Vitaliano N. Aguirre II, said Wednesday that he enjoyed his stay in Davao City when he served as one of the judges during the final search of the Mutya ng Dabaw 2012 Wednesday evening.
"Mas maganda dito, fair. Hindi ka minumura, eh. Masarap dito kaysa doon sa impeachment trial," 65-year-old Aguirre jested when interviewed by reporters after the Mutya ng Dabaw 2012 coronation night at the Davao City Recreation Center.
Aguirre is a lawyer in the prosecution panel of the impeachment court who was recently cited in contempt for covering his ears while Senator-Judge Miriam Defensor-Santigao was speaking.
"Masaya pala dito, masarap ang accommodation," he said.
He said Davao City Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is a friend way back in Law school days at San Beda College and a Lex Talionis fraternity brother.
Aguirre was among the four judges chosen by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte for the finals night of the search. Other judges were Brigadier General Benito Antonio T. De Leon of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Chef Nino Laos and Philippine Women's College Fine Arts program director Brenda Z. Barba.
Aguirre said it was his 4th time in Davao but last Wednesday's visit was more fun than before since he had the chance to judge a beauty pageant.
Aguirre was also the lead counsel of Hubert Webb in the Vizconde murder rape case and was a lawyer of Senator Panfilo Lacson. (Arianne Caryl N. Casas)
