Man mauled, shot dead by minors-A A +A

A 38-YEAR-OLD man was mauled and shot dead by a group of minors on R. Castillo in Agdao, Davao City on Thursday night.
Police identified the victim as Herbert Iwag Sales, a resident of Barangay Leon Garcia, also in Agdao.
Based on investigations conducted by Senior Police Officer 1 Nerio Dequito of Sta. Ana police, the victim succumbed to stab wounds on the right side of his back and a gunshot wound on the right leg.
According to Miguel Fernandez Banilad, 47, a security guard at a nearby gasoline station who witnessed the crime, he heard a gunshot and saw at least a group of 10 boys running after the victim and another man who were both onboard a motorcycle around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
The motorcycle driven by the victim keeled over and the group started mauling and stabbing the suspect.
The victim sought the help of passers-by while the group fled into an alley beside the gasoline station.
Sales was brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center, but was declared dead upon arrival by attending physicians.
The Sta. Ana police office is still conducting investigation to identify the group responsible for the crime. (Blue Cordero)
