THE newly-assumed chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Davao Region, paid a courtesy call on Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio on Monday.
Senior Superintendent Albert Ignatius Ferro, replaced former CIDG regional chief Senior Superintendent Pedro Cabatingan some two months ago.
In Monday's press briefing at her office, Duterte-Carpio said she and Ferro only exchanged "pleasantries and good experiences" in his initial months as the newly-designated chief of CIDG-Davao.
The mayor said they did not talk much about work-related matters.
She told Ferro that the city has offices like the Public Safety and Command Center (PSCC), Traffic Management Center and other offices and units that could be of help to ease the work of CIDG in the city.
"To uphold those functions for which the CIDG has been created," Duterte-Carpio said when asked what her expectations of the new CIDG regional chief are.
The city is willing to provide any form of assistance that CIDG might need in carrying out their tasks in keeping the region's peace and security and in implementing the law.
Before his appointment, Ferro served years as regional chief of CIDG-Soccsksargen Region.
At present, Cabatingan is temporarily stationed at the Police Regional Office in Davao Region. (JOP)
