KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Authorities arrested on Thursday the number one most wanted person in Antipas town in North Cotabato identified as Edmund Sanchez, a police official said.
The arrest of Sanchez, according to Antipas Municipal Police Station chief Inspector Felix Fornan, came after they received information that the suspect is hiding in Governor Generoso town in Davao Oriental.
Court records showed that Sanchez is facing two charges: murder in 2007 (Criminal Case Number 126-2007), and robbery in 2006 (Criminal Case Number 01-2006). Both were filed at the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 17 based in Kidapawan City.
Fornan said that after they verified the location of Sanchez at sitio Barraca, Barangay Surop in Governor Generoso town, they immediately coordinated with the municipal police station.
Around 12:20 p.m. of Thursday, they arrested Sanchez, who allegedly went into hiding in 2007.
Police brought the suspect in Antipas town on Friday and was turned over to RTC for his commitment order. (Malu Cadeliña Manar)
