KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Authorities recovered in a grassy lot along the highway in M'lang, North Cotabato a still unidentified male cadaver around 10 a.m. Friday.
Superintendent Renante delos Santos, chief of M'lang Municipal Police Station, said the victim sustained three gunshot wounds in the head.
The victim's face was packed with a masking tape and his hands were also tied with a tape, Delos Santos added.
Results of the post-mortem examination showed that the victim also bore torture marks in different parts of his body.
M'lang Mayor Joselito Pinol considered the killing a blatant form of “summary execution.”
The cadaver was the third victim of summary killing recovered along the highway in M’lang since January this year.
Sometime January, the cadaver of a female student from Koronadal City was found at Barangay Nueva Vida, M'lang.
A month later, the body of a 13-year-old boy from nearby Makilala town, also in North Cotabato, was discovered at Barangay Pag-asa, M’lang.
"Whoever is doing this heinous crime is destroying the image of my town. They're making my town a salvage area,” said Pinol as he urged authorities to investigate further the incidents.
In Kabacan town, three male cadavers were also recovered, two weeks ago.
The victims were also victims of summary execution, reports said.
