Robber slain in shootout

AN UNIDENTIFIED man behind burglary incidents was killed in a shootout with the police in El Rio Vista Village in Davao City Saturday morning.
Senior Police Officer 1 Raul Lucas, investigator of the San Pedro police station, said their personnel under Intelligence Division chanced upon the suspects around 3:35 a.m. while they were coming out of a compound.
Lucas said they accosted the two and one of them immediately run while the other one pulled out a gun from his waist resulting in the shootout.
The suspect succumbed to two gunshot wounds in his body and was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor.
Police have launched a manhunt operation against the other suspect who escaped.
Investigation showed this is the second time that the suspects broke into the house of Christine T. Bala, 28, home-based employee of the People's College International. The suspects possibly gained entry by destroying the main door and the kitchen door of the house.
Recovered from the crime scene were one caliber .38 revolver with four live ammunition, four fired cartridges of caliber .45 pistol, and one leather holster.
