Dump truck rams bulldozer, 6 dead

FIVE men died while four others were wounded when a dump truck lost its brakes and rammed into parked bulldozer near the dumpsite in Barangay New Carmen, Tugbok District in Davao City on Saturday.
The dead victims are identified as Aurello Lanutan Sejuela; Guillermo Batac Estandarte, 65; Romeo Dora Loganio, 45, all of the same place; Patricio Daclan Alfeche, of sitio Tandawan, barangay Magtuod; and Rey Hain, of Matina.
The wounded were identified as Jerry Enanod Flores, 34; Jerry dela Torre Esploana, 19; Felipe Magallanes Gatlabayan, 62; Mandayumpa Suhay Mansalinoy, 49, all residents of barangay New Carmen, Tugbok.
Based on the blotter of the Tugbok police, a dump truck owned by Comval Tropical Fruits Inc., driven by Delmar Camansi Hillazar, 23, of Market Site in Ma-a, lost its brakes and smashed into a parked bulldozer near the dumpsite at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The bulldozer fell into the dumpsite and ran over the nine victims. The wounded are still undergoing treatment at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
The driver of the dump truck voluntarily surrendered before the Maa Community Outpost and was endorsed to Tugbok police.
The driver is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide and multiple physical injuries. (Blue Cordero)
